So, I've been trying to grow out my hair for about a year. It has taken FOR. EV. ER. And I am nowhere near an ideal length.
You see... I used to have long hair. So long, in fact, that I donated it to Locks of Love in 2009.
And ever since then, my haircuts have been getting progressively shorter. Last Marchish I actually went with a full-on pixie cut and it has been the shortest it has ever been (less a couple times I took scissors to my own hair as a child and decided to give myself some super short bangs).
I liked it short, but it was actually difficult to maintain. I had to get my haircut more regularly (and I'm busy and cheap, so that's not a good combination). And then I also had to buy product to put in it. PRODUCT! Typically,w hen my hair was long, I just blew it dry and hoped for the best and it kind of just worked... not so much with very short hair. Also, bed head was AWFUL in the mornings. It was reminiscent of a couple of boys I used to have as students in preschool.
And, seriously, is it really wise for a thirtysomething woman to have the hairstyle of a four year old boy?
So here I sit... between being short and being long and not knowing what to do.
I have entertained the idea of shaving it off for St. Baldricks... but I am not sure how that will look... and if it is against my company's dress code. And, I'm fairly certain that my husband would prefer a wife without a buzz cut. Just a hunch.
So... here I sit... in between hairstyles. Not wanting short hair, but lacking the patience to wait until it gets long. And, thinking it might be wise for my husband to hide all of the scissors in the house(s), just in case I get the bright idea to take matters into my own hands. .
